Reluctant to Sleep

I was peeking through the window to look at Max, and noticed he was sitting very near the gate of the house to look out for people or dogs and to bark at them. He was actually resisting from falling asleep while looking at one direction where there are most outsider activity. Finally he succumbed to his sleepiness.

Max Favorite Indoor Spot

Max has made the landing between the first and second flight of steps as his resting place whenever he comes into the house. He will groom, sleep and nibble garments and socks that he "steals" from the laundry basket and shoe cupboard.

The pictures below show him looking at me sheepishly after taking a pair of sock from the shoe cupboard. He proceeds to sniff and nibble at it despite me staring at him and saying " no"

Jon Sitting Down?

If there is one thing that I have not manage to get Jon to do, it is the "Sit". He just won't sit. No matter how hard I press his back down, his butt won't go down. In the six years he has been with me, I have only managed to see him sit less than 10 times.

So, a few days ago, after cleaning the dogs' enclosure and wetting it, Jon squeezed himself to a dry corner and sat down. I had to quietly take a photo shot from a window so as not to make him notice me, and stand up.

Depressed Look

This isn't the usual pitiful and longing look that Max gives when he wants food. It's a sad face whereby he has been cooped up behind with Jon for half a day. Locked up in a limited space with a dog mate who dislikes him is too much for Max to bear.

Looking at the first picture, his expression is exactly how humans look like when they stretch on the bed.

Max happened to be at the back of the house. Since he liked to toy around with socks and briefs, I gave him a worn out socks to play with.

Interestingly, unlike Jon and Daisy, Max never tears apart the items. He merely pulls it , and then abandons the items.
